About Our brand

Inspired by nature, our pottery brand embraces wood-firing techniques. The flame and wood ash leave their unique marks, transforming each piece through fire and infusing it with life.

Our brand, Ojeh, is inspired by a love for nature and primarily uses wood firing techniques. Instead of using natural wood, we choose to work with discarded wood from construction sites or reclaimed timber, helping to protect the environment while creating our pieces. Guided by these natural materials, Ojeh Studio has been crafting and launching themed pottery series, such as the Ocean Series, celebrating the beauty and spirit of the natural world.

Each piece is shaped not only by the potter's hands but also by the conditions of the day during the wood-firing process.  The unique characteristics of wood firing—affected by wind, humidity, rain, or dry weather—capture the environment’s essence, turning every firing into a diary of nature’s mood. Every piece of Ojeh pottery carries nature’s DNA, infused by the elements of wood, fire, and the ever-changing conditions of the kiln. It’s a tangible reflection of the beauty and unpredictability of the natural world, brought into your home.

Our story

Ojeh Studio was founded by two potters Ju-heon Yang and Serim Oh who shared a passion for pottery inspired by nature. Through countless conversations, they discovered a shared appreciation for the ocean, forests, sunsets, animals, and people—places and moments that sparked their creativity.

The name reflects the fundamental elements of nature that form the heart of their work. This shared inspiration led to the creation of Ojeh (오재), which means "five materials" in Korean (오 - 5, 재 - materials). The name reflects the fundamental elements of nature that form the heart of their work.
